"Dear Sir,

Few years back, I started my career as an officer. I made few mistakes, no doubt. Professional life and routine work processes were something which I found boring initially. It was a time when I was living two different life's altogether. One with my physical presence in office and other on emotional plane. During first few day's some one asked me to to fill the pay-in-slip for the customer. such a small task one may fill, but while doing that little thing I became emotional, eyes full with tears.Tears about my condition,it was really painful experience for me. I realized at that moment, 'life has got changed, now I have become Clerk ! Yes an ordinary clerk in reputed organisation. With dream of grabbing any 'Post' with 'higher' responsibility, more powers and needless to say a 'hefty pay package' was crushed already I was no option but to fill the 'pay in slip' as dictated by others. Realization of having 'no self value in the 'eyes of others' broke me emotionally at that moment.   But with the co-operation of other team mates and your support I learnt many things. I don't know how successful I was, but for sure I saw you as an idol/ role model.

I trusted you at my best possible capacity thinking that  'you' understand the reality and treat others with humanity. All my colleagues were looking at you and treating you as a 'boss' or 'super boss', I never saw towards you with such a limited approach. Instead I respected you as a good human being who understands the 'next' person and tries to become a good individual at every moment. You did one personal favor on me and made my transfer possible.Without your initiative it was just impossible, I knew. You took me along, I was happy with the change.

With change in  profile, priorities changed I agree. In changing scenario distance between me and you grown slowly and steadily. It was not that 'belief' in you got changed, but kind of 'response' from your end got changed dramatically. I respect the difference of opinion, but I can never accept 'difference' in treatment. As you already know 'keeping myself in limelight' is something I don't like to do. I was and will never attempt to show a lavish goody goody picture  and win praises from you. instead I will prefer to get 'scolding' from you for my  lapses / wrong doing if any. To do artificial show casing of my work/ my ability is something  I will never prefer. Instead I believed 'yardstick' of customer satisfaction and 'reality' at workplace should judge my performance. Performance is something different from 'proving' your performance. Tendulkar or any player for that matter, only plays his game. He never keeps it's records. But cricket  fan knows  the 'player' by his game / talent first, bookish record comes latter.( I know I am no where in front of Tendulkar.) Fake reporting and fraudulent documentation can raise the 'name' and 'fame' of oneself for a shorter period of time, but it will not fulfill the purpose of accessing one's capacity from organisation's point of view in a larger perspective. As it is made up of many individuals ranging from peon to managing director. Each ones contribution to increase the profitability is necessary. 'delivering great results by forcing customers or co-staff may give unbelievable numbers for a shorter span of time, but eventually this  'greed' will kill the 'name' and 'stature' of the organisation. One can borrow the money but when it comes to the 'trust' you need the persons with integrity and principles. There are 'n' number of such silent and unheard ground level workers which are contributing to presence of 'organisation', there little contribution gets neglected and they suffer on professional and personal front. Without there silent  presence, 'roaring' business earners can not deliver. In order to grow high in the sky tree must spread it's roots deep in to the ground, without this support it will collapse at any times.

As a experience leader you may have different take on this subject but I am penning it for some other reason.
Earlier I used to believe that you always take 'your' own decision, and 'order' us accordingly. But sorry to say, for last couple of months I am finding that you are believing in 'what is shown' to you. The certain individuals which are 'over' ambitious and 'smart' enough to take advantage of your 'good'  nature and having direct access to you are 'taking you away from the reality. and influencing your decisions.' I know I am too small to say all this, but can't resist. I don't want to gain anything out of it, I am happy with the little what I have.

One may say that 'these things happen in all organisations...why are you becoming so emotional?" My simple answer to this logic is that, without emotions, you can not become a good human being. And when it comes to 'service' industry 'being human' is absolutely necessary.

We do have enough of  'life' waiting for us which is beyond annual ratings, professional achievements, and to enjoy every fraction of it, 'self' of every individual must be 'free' from any 'bitterness' which is  percolating in to each one's heart from such 'unhealthy' competition. Happiness is something which one must experience and share with all. You can not judge 'individual's' happiness/ 'performance of individual' when he is / was happy by any MIS for that you need to live the moment.

I writing this with great expectation and untimely intuition that you will read this unofficial, off the record letter and will definitely take note of my feelings.

Best Regards.
Manik.
